Rep. Raskin responded after MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell asked about a possible subpoena for Trump:
Well, it has not been quoted but we wait for someone who is summoned to meet Legal orders. Obviously he is making noises on executive privilege. The idea that somehow extend Steve Bannon is comical and ridiculous. Steve Bannon was fired in 2017 several years before January There were even sixth attacks. Even for Donald Trump, it’s a very implausible argument because in an executive claim privilege that does not adhere to a human being but to the office.
Joe Biden has said no problem with turning this finished material. Even if Trump somehow try to push this in court what are you weighing is from the public overwhelming interest to know about our own government and the security of our own government against any affirmed statement essentially in national security. But here the public and national security is on the same side of the equation, both for disclosure of everything Steve Bannon knows everything Donald Trump knows it, in fact everything any of us know because this was a mass crime against the republic. We have not seen an attack on C.Apitol like this since the war from 1812. Or an attack on the republic so since the Civil War.
The 1/6 Committee is expected to vote quickly to hold Bannon in criminal contempt of Congress, and the Justice Department is expected to act quickly to impeach Bannon.
The committee is sending a message to Trump and all his associates that they better not even think about refusing to comply with a subpoena or they could end up behind bars.
