“College GameDay” should look a lot more familiar to fans in 2021, as Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso’s team returns for their week-by-week preview of the college football season.
It’s unclear how the current COVID-19 pandemic will affect Operation “GameDay,” but you’ll likely see the entire crew, including Corso, traveling to each location. That sense of normalcy will need to include fans and signage again, but that will likely be determined week by week as the week’s games are revealed.
That said, the show won’t be quite the same in 2021: ESPN has refused to replace “GameDay” regular Maria Taylor after she left the network for NBC. According to a report from Front Office Sports, ESPN will be looking at its talent pool to engage more reporters.
“There are no immediate plans to replace that role,” ESPN told Front Office Sports in a statement. “We look forward to kicking off Season 35 of College GameDay with our talented team, which includes Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack, Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica, and reporters Jen Lada and Gene Wojciechowski.”
Regardless, “GameDay” doesn’t stop with its first location: Atlanta. The team will set up outside of Center Parc Stadium for the MEAC / SWAC Challenge between Alcorn State and North Carolina Central. The show will not only see the game and the season as a whole, but will also celebrate the tradition and history of the HBCUs in college football.
With that, here is everything you need to know about “College GameDay” while visiting Atlanta:
