Tori Spelling is reportedly preparing to file for divorce from Dean McDermott.
A source close to the 48-year-old actress has stated that there is no going back for exes, who have been married since 2006, but wants to make sure they are “financially” stable before filing divorce papers.
They told E! News: “The marriage is over and has been for a long time.
“Tori has met with her lawyers and she plans to file a lawsuit very soon. She is trying to figure everything out first and make sure she is financially healthy.”
Tori and actor Dean, 55, are parents to Liam, 14, Stella, 13, Hattie, 10, Finn, nine, and Beau, four, and they had allegedly tried to stay together for the sake of their offspring.
The source added: “It’s for the best and it’s been a long time coming. They’ve been trying to figure it out for years for the sake of the kids, but they don’t really get along.”
“They’ve been sleeping in different rooms for months and haven’t considered themselves ‘married’ in a while. Tori is ready for a fresh start, but she’s trying to be strategic about it.”
Fans of the ‘90210’ actress first learned of the problems in her marriage when Dean admitted to cheating in 2014, an affair that was documented on the reality show ‘True Tori’.
However, it has recently been alleged that although they fixed their problems, their relationship was never fully repaired.
A source said: “Tori still has major trust issues. Part of their relationship was never fully repaired after he cheated on her. They have been living separate lives. They will still have family meals and occasional outings, but it’s for the kids.” .
Tori had hinted that she no longer shared a bed with her husband, though she continued to claim that was when he was gone.
Speaking on ‘Jeff Lewis Live,’ he said: “You know what, right now my kids and dogs are sleeping in my bed. Since he left, this is not good, guys, but since he left, he’s been away for six months. Filming in another country, they all stayed with me. So currently I still have four in the bedroom with me who have not yet returned to their rooms. “
