STAT News hires Wosen to cover biotech and life sciences

Jonathan Wosen

Jonathan Wosen has United STAT News as a West Coast life sciences and biotech reporter, forging a new rhythm that covers biotech companies, research institutes and the people behind the burgeoning West Coast life sciences industry.

Previously, he covered the biotech industry for the San Diego Union-Tribune. Wosen has also worked as a freelance writer at Haymarket Media Group and was a science writing intern at Annual Reviews, where he wrote Q&A, feature stories, and contributed to the Review weekly newsletter.

Wosen held the same intern position at the Santa Cruz Sentinel, where he covered science and environment news. He also interned at Stanford University School of Medicine and also served as a podcast writer and host on Goggles Optional.

Previously, he also did an internship at STAT and worked as a freelancer for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News.

Wosen holds a BA in Biology from Williams College and an MA in Science Communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is also a doctor of immunology from Stanford University.
