Report in response to a pandemic denounces that global health is ‘hostage’ to big pharmaceuticals

Ahead of a key World Trade Organization meeting where ministers are urged to finally endorse a proposed temporary exemption from intellectual protection on coronavirus-related technologies, a new report highlights inequality in vaccines and a situation in the one that global health has been “hostage” to Big Pharma.

Posted on Monday and titled Wasting time: ending this pandemic and securing the future, the publication comes from the Independent Pandemic Preparedness and Response Panel, a body established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
