The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) cut prices by Sh5 per liter on Thursday, lowering the cost of super gasoline and diesel to Sh129.72 and Sh110.60 respectively in the monthly review due to expire on November 14.
The cuts came after State House stepped in and ordered Epra to cut fuel prices despite a lack of funds in the kitty that had been used to keep prices low since March.
“The maximum allowable oil prices in Nairobi for super gasoline and diesel decrease by 5 shillings per liter, while that of kerosene falls by 7.28 shillings per liter,” Epra said Thursday when publishing the new prices.
The new prices will see drivers in Mombasa pay 127.46 shillings per liter of gasoline, 108.36 shillings for diesel and 101.29 shillings, while those in Kisumu will pay 130.12 shillings, 111.3 and 104.26 shillings for gasoline, diesel and kerosene, respectively. .
Nakuru motorists will part with Sh129.24 for gasoline, Sh110.43 for diesel and Sh103.39 for kerosene, while those in Eldoret will pay Sh130.13, Sh111.32 and Sh104.27 for the three products respectively.
