NEW DELHI: Myanmar’s ruling army will not prevent a special envoy from Southeast Asia from visiting the country, but will not allow her to meet with detained former leader Aung San Suu Kyi, because she is accused of crimes, a spokesperson said.
Board spokesman Zaw Min Tun, in comments issued by the military dated Wednesday, also said a delay in the United Nations’ approval of the military government’s UN ambassador nomination was politically motivated.
