Mamata Banerjee to meet Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar in Mumbai

Prime Minister of West Bengal Mamata banerjee He will visit Mumbai on Tuesday to meet his counterpart from Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray other National Congress Party supreme Sharad Pawar amidst the attempts of the Trinamool Congress chief to form ‘a strong anti-BJP force’ before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Confirming his visit to Mumbai, party spokesman Kunal Ghosh said that Banerjee was a face of strong opposition against the BJP.

Banerjee is also likely to visit Rajasthan in the first week of December after expanding the Trinamool footprints in Goa, UP, Meghalaya, Tripura and Assam. Trinamool plans to fight the upcoming Goa assembly elections. The party is also trying its luck in the ongoing Tripura municipal elections.

Recently, the Trinamool has been successful in tying in several ‘disillusioned’ Congress leaders in their fold, including the former president of the Goa Congress, Luizinho Faleiro. In Meghalaya, 12 of the 18 MLAs in Congress joined the Trinamool, making it the main opposition in the state assembly.

In an attempt to unite opposition parties against the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee is in talks with various opposition parties following his victory in the West Bengal assembly elections earlier this year.

During her two-day visit to Mumbai, the West Bengal chief minister is also likely to meet with some business heads to invest in the state.
