Industrial hand soap is not reliable for food-safe hand washing

When it comes to soap, there are more questions than answers. What kind of soap is it? How much are you using? Has the soap dispenser been cleaned recently? Does the soap manufacturer recommend a specific dispenser or usage amount?

It is impossible to quantify the effectiveness of hand hygiene if these questions are always present. That’s why it’s hard to trust soap to consistently meet your organization’s hand hygiene processes. Fortunately, there is an alternative that eliminates the need to constantly ask questions. That alternative is UltraPure.

Inconsistency in human behavior can affect the effectiveness of industrial hand soap

Each person is different. So it’s no wonder everyone takes a different approach to hand washing. Proper hand washing takes time and careful consideration. Ideally, a person ensures that Each part of their hands has been properly scrubbed and soaked for at least 20 seconds. However, as you’ve probably noticed in public restrooms, many people try to wash their hands as quickly as possible and with minimal thought.

This type of person-to-person inconsistency does not follow best food safety hand hygiene practices. Using UltraPure eliminates that variability by dispensing the proper amount of solution needed for more than 99.9% pathogen removal when used with a CleanTech® automated hand washing system.

Everyone uses a different amount of soap

Even if someone takes the proper 20 seconds to wash their hands, how much soap they are using also matters. If a person only takes a small dose of hand soap, for example, it is probably not enough to rid their hands of the right amount of pathogens for proper hygiene.

Alternatively, if someone takes multiple pumps of hand soap, they probably have more than enough to kill pathogens, but this excess soap comes at a price. Since each person uses a different amount of soap and many times too much soap, it is difficult to estimate how quickly your team will go through your soap supply and calculate how much soap you will buy.

Just 5 ml or a teaspoon of UltraPure is all that is needed for proper pathogen removal. The variability in effectiveness and cost that results from people using between one and five pumps of hand soap no longer exists. Instead, UltraPure will give you peace of mind that each employee is receiving the correct amount of solution for proper pathogen removal, and will make ordering and budgeting for hygiene solutions easy.

Every industrial hand soap is different

Hand Pumping Soap Dispenser

There are an overwhelming number of food processing liquid hand soaps on the market, and they are all different. The chemistry of each soap is different by type and many companies have a “good enough” approach to how their soap is designed. They leave the effectiveness of hand hygiene in the hands of the individual user.

Of course, this complicates matters, as users may not know how much soap is needed for proper hand washing. Even if a user knows how much of a particular soap is needed, an organization can often switch soap types and once again leave the user in the dark. There is only one UltraPure and it works the same for every hand wash. Our efficacy studies have shown that UltraPure produces a greater reduction in pathogens than manual hand washing.

Every industrial soap dispenser is different

One aspect of hand hygiene that is often overlooked is the soap dispenser. Soap dispensers are often not calibrated for the type of soap and will pump the same amount of soap regardless of the type used. This is problematic when using some soaps as foam, as soap dispensers pump a standard amount of soap per pump, but often foam soap has a lower PPM of chemical since air bubbles make up the majority of it. of the soap being dispensed.

Many organizations also do not change soap dispensers when changing soap types, so they may use the wrong type of dispenser for purchased soap. Regular cleaning of the dispenser is also necessary to prevent build-up of residue that can make the dispenser less effective.

Since UltraPure was created in conjunction with CleanTech® Automated Hand Wash Stations, one does not have to worry about any of the questions that may arise from soap dispensers. A 10 liter bottle of UltraPure consistently provides 1,750 hand washes each time it is applied to the CleanTech® Automated Hand Wash System.

With UltraPure, you no longer have to worry about:

  • How much soap is your team using.
  • How much soap to buy and budget.
  • The effectiveness of your industrial hand soap.
  • The effectiveness of the soap dispenser type when used with purchased soap.

Instead, UltraPure and CleanTech® make this easy, as they were designed to be as effective as possible with minimal human effort required. All a person has to do is put their hands in the CleanTech® Automated Hand Wash Station and UltraPure does the rest.
