Family and franchise owners will be located in Bubble

So this year’s IPL, just like the players of all the teams, their family members and all franchise owners can exit Bio-secure Bubble only if it is very necessary. If they want to get out of the bubble, they must get approval from the BCCI medical director to get out of the bubble.

All team areas around the hotel are closed.

To ensure the high security measure of all team players, BCCI applied this rule that all teams should try to reserve the entire hotel for their players and all other staff. If this is not possible, the entire hotel wing would be assigned to the particular team and closed for another group of people.

BCCI issued Bubble Integrity Manager

To avoid or ensure that all players on the team do not violate any of the biosafety bubble rules, BCCI involved a team of four who are designated as ‘Bubble Integrity Manager’. This team will assign each team separately. This team makes sure that all players on the team and the rest of the staff do not violate any of the Bio-Secure Bubble rules.

Ball replacement rule

After so much research around the world, Cricket balls have been shown to have little or no chance of carrying the COVID virus. But to neglect any small margin of risk, BCCI decided that if a ball goes into the stands or outside the stadium, it will be replaced immediately. That replaced ball will be reused after disinfection.

Up to three RT-PCR teats are needed for all

To enter a biosecure bubble, all those coming from another bubble will have to perform three RT-PCR tests within 7 days. Only those people enter a new bubble that tests negative on all tests.

Different check-in counters

To ensure that all players and staff are kept away from harm, BCCI assigns them separate check-in counters at the hotel. This facility ensures that no player and staff do not contract with external elements.

No contact between the BCCI official and the players

As a member, BCCI’s top-tier panel will not be able to enter the IPL biosafety bubble. They are not allowed to make contact with players or other officials who are part of Bio-Secure Bubble.
