‘Fair play’ is not a French word: Gabon coach Patrice Neveu responds at Ghana AFCON 2021


Gabon head coach Patrice Neveu has hit back at Andre Ayew and Ghana after the Black Star captain criticized The Panthers for their role in the brawl that broke out on Friday.

There was a bit of a fight at the end of the Africa Cup of Nations Group C clash between Gabon and Ghana, where the Black Stars accused the Panthers of a lack of sportsmanship.

Patrice Neveu also denounced Black Stars’ antics in the clash at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo.

“I respect Ghana. ‘Fair play’ is an English word; we don’t have it in french. Fair Play means that Ghana should have stopped trying to waste time and break up the game. Don’t come preaching to me about fair play. We saw an opportunity and we took advantage of it.” Gabon coach Patrice Neveu
