Mercedes-AMG has just launched the new A 45 and CLA 45 Edition 55 as an anniversary mark. This is how the company celebrates 55 years of AMG.
Customers will be dealing with the most powerful models in the premium brand’s compact range. They will be able to order the cars in Cosmos black metallic or Digital white metallic. Both will show decals on the sides.
Mercedes equipped them with the AMG aerodynamic package. It brings with it a prominent splitter, a rear spoiler, a diffuser and canards.
The AMG Night II package is standard on both the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and CLA 45 Edition 55. This package includes a high-gloss black radiator grille, splitter, mirror caps and window trim. So are the quad exhaust pipes and the cars come with tinted windows.
19-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels in titanium gray are standard.
The future owner of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and CLA 45 Edition 55 will get a black and red cabin with dark brushed aluminum trim. They will sit on the standard AMG Performance seats in red and black leather and will carry a flat-bottomed AMG steering wheel with the 55 Edition logo.
The most powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder power unit puts cars in motion. It comes along with 421 PS (415 HP) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, delivered to both axles via the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system with AMG Torque Control. And the answer is yes. They get the Drift.
Late 2022 is the time Australian customers will be able to take home one of these sporty compacts.
