Megan Stalter Prepares to Lead Hannah Pearl Utt’s ‘Cora Bora’


Best known for her role as a bumbling talent agent’s assistant in “Hacks,” Megan Stalter is ready to step out of the office and into the spotlight in “Cora Bora,” the third feature film from Hannah Pearl Utt. The dark comedy will mark Stalter’s first leading role.

according to deadline, the indie tells the story of Cora (Stalter), “who feels like her open relationship is on the rocks. When the feisty musician and messy millennial return home to Portland to win back her girlfriend, she realizes there’s much more than her love life that she needs to save.”

Rhianon Jones wrote the script.

Utt’s latest feature, “Before You Know It,” premiered at Sundance 2019. He made his feature film debut with 2016’s “Disengaged.”

Stalter reprises her role as Kayla in “Hacks” season 2, which launched yesterday on HBO Max. The comedian’s upcoming slate includes Peacock’s “Queer as Folk” reboot and “Sometimes I Think About Dying” by Rachel Lambert. an independent drama directed by Daisy Ridley.
