Keith Hill: Scunthorpe Names Former Rochdale, Barnsley and Bolton Manager | Football news

Scunthorpe has appointed Keith Hill as its new manager.

The former Rochdale, Barnsley and Bolton boss replaces Neil Cox, who was fired Monday with Scunthorpe last of League Two with two wins in 15 games.

Hill, who twice guided Rochdale to third-tier promotion, was fired as Tranmere’s coach in May, just before his League Two play-off semifinal with Morecambe.

The length of the contract that Hill, 52, signed at Glanford Park has not been disclosed.

Scunthorpe will face Doncaster Rovers at home in the FA Cup first round on Saturday, before the same opposition revisits in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

Hill’s first league game in charge will be at home against Salford City on November 13.
