The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a sloppy 13-7 victory over Green Bay, beating Jordan Love in his first NFL start for the Packers.
In a buggy, low-scoring contest, the Chiefs were victorious thanks to 13 points in the first half, but this was a Kansas City team that was yet to reach its best form.
The Chiefs, who led the league in gifting this season (19 in their first eight games) at least avoided turnovers, but their usually explosive offense accounted for just 237 yards of total offense, 64 of which came in their first drive.

Patrick Mahomes, who completed just 20 of 37 passes for 166 yards, found tight end Travis Kelce for the touchdown to cap off a 15-play drive on his first offensive drive. But Kansas City would add just two field goals in the second quarter to its score for the rest of the game.
As for the Packers, having to dispense with reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers after his highly publicized absence from Covid-19, they were understandably rusty on offense in Love’s first career start.
The second-year quarterback completed 19 of 34 passes for 190 yards, with a touchdown and an interception. His first NFL touchdown pass, a 20-yard pass to Allen Lazard, came with four minutes and 54 seconds left when Green Bay briefly threatened a late comeback, only for the Chiefs to run out of the rest of the clock.
The Packers will finally curse some previous costly mistakes. Mason Crosby missed a 40-yard-wide field goal to the left last in the first quarter, while having another blocked to end his next drive. In addition, Love’s interception, a pass destined for Davante Adams, intercepted by L’Jarius Sneed, ended a promising series of the fourth quarter that had reached the 24 yard of Kansas City.
